Three Things to Have for Winter Camping (or Full-Timing)

Winter Things I Love in My RV!

If you're going to camp in the winter - or if you're full time, and not even in a really cold area, here are 3 things that will be really helpful this winter. (Yes, that is a photo of my old RV in the winter in Missouri in 1997 - apparently, I've been trying to get full-time for many years!)

These would make great Christmas gifts!

This tissue holder is perfect for your car, rv, or dorm room. Any place you need tissues but don't want a big box. You can divide a large box of tissues up between 2-3 of these.

Just what you need - a simple, quick tissue holder and two ways to make it.

For some reason, I always try to make things complicated. The last tissue holder I made took me days!

This one was so quick and simple, I doubt it took more than 15 minutes. Let me show you how

Level Up!! Two Great Products to Make Setting Up Your Trailer / Fifth Wheel / RV A Lot Easier!

Since we are now full-time, I thought we should splurge and get a few things to make our life easier! Our trailer does not have automatic levelers. We read about Anderson Levelers and The LevelMatePRO on a number of blogs and comments, so we have just ordered these! They are the closest thing to having an automatic level system!

.These things will make setting up so simple - here's how!

How To Sew Your Own Kayak Sail for Any Kayak! DIY Tutorial with Photos

Great Camping & Kayaking Tutorials! Wacky Pup - Make your own kayak sail!

When we bought our first 'beginner' kayaks, they were really neat. They were made by Lifetime and were small, lightweight and best of all, they came with the sails you see in the photo.  We have long since moved on to better kayaks, but we use those sails with every kayak we own including a Hobie tandem. Since we lost a sail in a near death experience, I came up with a way to make them myself. Here's how I did it

Wow - Slow Cooker without Electricity!

We are planning a long camping trip through the National Parks this coming spring. I can't wait! It's going to be fantastic! The only not-so-fantastic part is that National Parks don't have electricity and water hook-ups.

I have been looking for a "Thermal Pot" for a long time. That way I can cook a slow cooker meal without needing electrical hook-ups. They are normally over $100, $150 or even more. This is why I don't have one LOL.  Well, the other day I stumbled across this -

So, my son bought it for me for Christmas.

Isn't he nice?

To use a thermal pot, you heat the ingredients up to boiling and pour them in. Close tightly and let sit for 3-8 hours. Everything will cook up nicely because it is heavily insulated. It's also great to transport hot food to a tail-gating party or get-together.

If you have any experience with these, or have good recipes, please let me know in the comment section.

I'll let you know how it works when we get a chance to use it.

Now go play outside!

Get More Room in the Shower FREE and Easy Fix for a Tiny Shower

Free and Easy Fix for a Tiny Shower - Amazing! A ton of great ideas for organizing and remodeling campers and small spaces!

This mod will work with just about any shower that has a ceiling mounted rail. In my tiny camper there is a tiny shower. It is 24" x 24"

Here is the shower curtain rail as it came with the camper. Every time I take a shower, I am irritated by how hard it is to move the curtain around a 90' bend. Seriously? this is the engineer's design? They should make the designers take a shower in it LOL

I removed the screws holding it to the ceiling. There was not even any caulking in the holes, so it was simple!
