Don't Paint Your RV Cabinets! Easy Cabinet Remodel - No Prep! Won't Scratch Off!

Don't Paint Your RV Cabinets - Do this instead! Genius Idea from Wacky Pup!

When we went full-time, we bought a new 2019 Grand Design 19RLE. I love the floorplan, but the cabinetry is all DARK, I mean really DARK - Just about black. And there's a lot of it. And it's depressing, especially since we can't travel right now.

Don't Paint Your RV Cabinets - Do this instead! Genius Idea from Wacky Pup!

So, I thought about painting it. But, here's the deal - you may already know that your entire RV is coated with plastic! Like contact paper adhesive vinyl. Probably a little thicker, but maybe not. Plastic is practically impossible to paint successfully. If you sand it, you risk making scuffy places that will show through the paint. And the paint's not going to stick much better anyway, because --- it's PLASTIC.

My wonderful husband came up with a great idea!!! Read on to see how I completely redid my upper cabinets with extremely minimal prep - and it won't scratch off, or peel!!!

Knit Your Own Cargo Net in Any Color You Want!! Bonus Fruit Sling!

Hubs and I toured a highly overpriced Basecamp trailer by Airstream. I sure wish I could get in on the marketing that has made them such a status symbol. But I digress (and if I'm upsetting any airstream owners, I doubt it, since they don't read my blog AND their Basecamp is already equipped  with expensive cargo nets ALL OVER THE PLACE)

Which is exactly what made me think I should incorporate some cargo nets into my travel trailer! I mean, who doesn't want to model their RV around Airstream? They may be overpriced, but they are beautiful.

So, as a joke, I hung a cargo net over my side of the bed which happens to be under a bunk.

Turns out cargo nets are really helpful! So, not so much of a joke!

I started looking for an attractive cargo net. Guess what, they come in black ... and black ... and oh yes, black!

So I designed a REALLY easy knitting pattern to make my own cargo net. How easy, you ask? Well, if you can knit, you can make a cargo net. You don't even have to purl unless you want to.

Easy Fruit or Vegetable Hammock! Bonus Make Your Own Cargo Net!

How To Make A Pretty Fruit and Vegetable Sling

The first takes a little more knowledge of knitting. If you want a complete beginner instructions, scroll down to #2.

This is a pattern I made that has a lot of holes. I'm sure it has a name but I don't know it and I spend way too much time writing these blog posts as it is, so if you want to know the name you'll have to look for it yourself.

It not only makes a nice cargo net, but you can make a string bag or even a snazzy cargo net with it too! I wrote a blog post on the cargo net here

I actually have two ways to make a Fruit Vegetable Sling

Ok, I know this is not an attractive photo. But I have spent as much time as I have to write the post LOL ... so the photos are really basic. Maybe someday I'll come back and take some really neat photos but for now, this will give you an idea of what it will look like. Of course, yours will look MUCH BETTER because you will have something besides an old onion to put in it.

This is the brand (but not the color) I used - but I recommend you get it at a local store for $10 or less. Right now, it's $8 at Walmart.

Gluten Free, All Natural No Xanthan Gum Banana Bread!

Best Ever GF Banana Bread - without xanthan gum!

I'm not a food blogger, but if you're like me and have gluten sensitivity problems and are always looking for a good 'bread-type' gluten-free treat - look no further!

This is the best banana bread I've ever had, including the 'real kind'.

Don't eat xanthan gum, it's not a good thing!

I have to avoid XANTHAN GUM which is in just about everything, especially gluten-free stuff!! Do you know what xanthan gum actually is? It's that black slimy rot that grows on vegetables to tell you to throw them away. They actually grow it, scrape it off, dry it and put it in EVERYTHING from puddings, ice cream, baked goods, sauces, toppings ... EVERYTHING!! And it gives me real distress, so if you're having issues, you may be sensitive to xanthan gum too. (It has actually killed infants, yet they feed it to us in everything!)

It's organic, simple, fool-proof and can be sized up or down to suit how many bananas you have on hand.

Attractive DIY Water Filter Stand Tutorial by Wacky Pup - Pin it for later!

Hope you're keeping safe! Unfortunately during this insanity of CLOSING THE WORLD, they have closed all the Corps of Engineer parks around, so we are at our home base, and I have the chance to do a few new projects

Attractive DIY Water Filter Stand Tutorial by Wacky Pup - Pin it for later!

One of the things I've been trying to figure out how to do was make a nice stand for our water filter.

Attractive DIY Water Filter Stand Tutorial by Wacky Pup - Pin it for later!

My first solution was to cut a hole in a cat litter bucket. This is great looks nice - but still too low.

Hmmmmm, how to make a bracket that will adjust for the differing heights of the various places we camp, or even different rv's.

Keep reading for full instructions, plus an alternative.
