It is made of glass with a silicone stopper. The "chrome" is plastic, because honey interacts with metals. I have microwaved it for short periods to soften the honey. I'm really happy with this .... except for the sneaky ants!
I didn't realize the ants could get in the top! This video is BEFORE I made the ant-proof stand.

I love this honey dispenser. The honey is always ready to pour and if it is too thick, you can set it in hot water to soften it up. It's called Mrs. Anderson’s Baking Syrup Honey Dispenser
It's mess-free too. And now I will show you how to make it ant proof.
You will need a flexible plastic cup, not the hard brittle kind.
Another matching cup larger than the first.
I live in Texas where there is a great grocery store called H.E.B. and I got great cups there. Actually, one cup and a jar lid would work as well.
Cut the smaller cup down until the honey pot just fits into the top.
Cut the larger one down to make a moat.
Use E6000 to glue them together.
(it's cheaper at Walmart!)
Let the glue dry a couple hours, then fill the moat with water.
Even though I still have ants in my trailer once in a while, I haven't seen a single ant on the honey.
I was afraid that the moat was not large enough, and if the ants figure out how to jump across, I'll pop off the bottom cup and replace it with a jar lid or something similar.
I love my new ant-free honey dispenser!
